When I go outside we have a screen door. This screen door could take the end of a dog’s tail off if the wind caught it.
LaRue is a beautiful full-blooded American German Shepherd. She is a typical colored Shepherd. Her tan body and a black saddle back indicates her breed. LaRue isn’t a very calm dog either. So hyper she could run and do a flip off a tree, and she has done that before. Also the only time she can be is when she is sleeping.
One windy day we were having BBQ and we had a guest over. Somehow LaRue got out of the backyard. Her love for my dad was strong, so she followed him everywhere. Our guest thought it was funny and that he knew she was there so he didn’t say anything. Honestly I thought it was quite cute. Also when my dad would lay down she was right behind him with her head on his shoulder. He didn’t even notice. Even with the smell of dog and dog breath that smelled like a rotten food. Eventually they woke up. By that I mean my dad not LaRue, she was still asleep. It was that moment that he realized she got out. He was furious his face turned red with anger, and then he told LaRue to go outside. When he did her eyes popped open like those biscuits you peel and they pop and scare you. The next thing you know she is running for the hills, well the backyard so to speak. He held the door until he saw her in the backyard. He shut the door a split seconded to early and the wind caught the door. All you could hear was my poor baby yelping. The door had cut off the end of her tail. Blood was all over the walls. All my dad could do was to apply pressure like the vet said. Her tail eventually her tail healed, now she acts like it never happened. But she is still afraid of my dad, and now when she gets out all you see is a streak of black so her tail doesn’t get caught again.
